I was called to the Bar in 2001 after graduating from the University of Victoria. I set up my own firm, Elaine M. Davies Law, in November 2007 and practice in the areas of family law, wills and estate law. Previous to going out on my own and subsequent to being qualified as a lawyer, I moved to Kamloops where I was employed by Crown Counsel and Family Maintenance Enforcement. I joined Carr Buchan and Company in 2004 shortly after returning to Victoria and remained with that firm until I set up my own firm.
Prior to attending law school, I earned a M.A. in history from Concordia University in Montreal and then worked as a researcher and project manager on Aboriginal claims with the Department of Indian Affairs in Vancouver from 1992 until 1997.
